На 2 февруари около 18.10 часа на пътя между село Подем и град Долна Митрополия е настъпил пътен инцидент. Водач на лек автомобил „БМВ“ – 24-годишен, е настигнал и блъснал каруца с конски впряг с двама пътника. При удара единият пътник в каруцата е починал. Установена е самоличността му – 17-годишен. Неговият спътник е бил 18-годишен. Той е транспортиран в болнично заведение в Плевен, където е диагностициран с фрактура на първи пръст на десен крак. Водачът на лекия автомобил е без наранявания. Той е изпробван за употреба на алкохол и наркотични вещества с технически средства, като уредите са отчели отрицателни резултати. Местопроизшествието е посетено от разследващ полицай, експерт при БНТЛ ОДМВР – Плевен. Уведомен е дежурен прокурор от ОП – Плевен. Образувано е досъдебно производство.
