За жените между 30 и 50 години се полага ехография на млечните жлези веднъж на две години, а за тези между 45 и 69 години – мамография. Осигурява се и цитонамазка за профилактика на рак на маточната шийка.
Мъжете над 50 години имат право на ежегодно изследване на PSA за ранно откриване на рак на простатата.
Касата покрива и профилактични тестове за хепатит B и C за хора на възраст между 40 и 60 години веднъж на всеки пет години. Осигуряват се и ваксини по националните програми – срещу HPV, ротавирус, грип и пневмококови инфекции.
От НЗОК напомнят, че направленията за профилактични прегледи са валидни 60 дни, а социално слаби и хронично болни пациенти са освободени от потребителска такса.
